Welcome to eTipiṭaka Quotation

Introduction

Your have reached the first eTipiṭaka WebService on the internet. This service has been made available as a gift of Dhamma since March 6, 2008, the World Tipiṭaka Day.

Filling a gap

Tipiṭaka Quotation is presented in this site to fill the gap between World Tipiṭaka Hard Copy and Pāḷi Tipiṭaka Database. It is hoped that eTipiṭaka WebService will facilitate the use of the newly formated database from the Great International Buddhist Council between 1955-1957 from which the World Tipiṭaka Edition 2005 is based.

A Modern Life-style for Pāḷi Scholars and the Tipiṭaka -minded Public

Users from institutions which received the Royal Gift of World Tipiṭaka in Roman script will now be able to get access to the eTipiṭaka WebService, thanks to the voluntary contribution of electronic inscribers from the Dhamma Society's World Tipiṭaka Project.

What's the Difference ?

The authoritative resolution of the Buddhist Era 2500 Great International Council Pāḷi Tipiṭaka Database is now available for the first time on the internet in 2008. Based on the International Council Manuscript, this sacred Text of the Pāḷi Tipiṭaka was proof-read and checked against all the major Tipiṭaka editions in various national scrips of the world. The information on variant readings which was published in 2007 in the Tipiṭaka Studies Reference and has been made available since March 2009.

What is a new Life-style for students of Tipiṭaka ?

In addition to the new proof-read Pāḷi Tipiṭaka, users will enjoy a more conveninet life-style of the Tipiṭaka Quotation --to quote the Pāḷi Tipiṭaka and print it elctronically anywhere you wish, and with the type-setting quality that has never been better. Gone is the headace of messy fonts of the diacritics. This new technology --the Dhamma & Tipiṭaka Technology-- thus ensures the correct replication of the sacred Pāḷi Sound which has been handed down by the Great Council almost 3,000 years. Please aslo note the new set of the the International Phonetic Alphabet for Pāḷi (IPA Pāḷi) has been proposed since December 2008 in this WebService as well.

How to Use e-Tipiṭaka Quotation?

Easy and very friendly. Just follow the guide. Read more.
